Great Holiday, but it's oh so nice to come home!

We've had a wonderful two weeks in Scotland and although I've not yet had time (too busy enjoying ourselves) to complete the blog postings and the fact that we are on the move again tomorrow Thursday, I will post them as soon as I have the opportunity - in the meantime ....

Hope that there are some readers out there who remember this great duo (circa 1975/6) - famous for their 'Breakaway' album with songs such as 'Heart on my Sleeve and 'I Want to Stay with You'.
Well did you know that they come from Largs? (which is where our daughter Sharon lives).  Benny Gallagher and Graham Lyle were asked to support the Haylie House Residential Centre by giving a concert in their home town - they agreed and Sharon purchased tickets for us and her and Joe her husband; and what a great night it was; the theatre was full to the gunwales and everyone was encouraged to sing along, clap and stamp their feet - a really great end to our holiday.
We had vacated our holiday cottage on the Isle of Cumbrae on Saturday morning so stayed the night with Sharon and family.
here they are (mad fools that they are) seeing us off on our journey back to Tattenhall Marina
... and look what arrived yesterday - NB Gypsy Rover with Ray, the new owner - he has spent the last 2 months bringing the boat to Tattenhall for the winter and on the way being regaled with waves and shouts of hey ... Dot and Derek!!  Ray is returning to New Zealand in the next couple of days and will return to resume his cruising on Gypsy Rover in the spring 2011 with his wife.  We wish them happy cruising.

  1. Hi Carol and George,

I can definitely confirm that Jacquie is not over doing it and I am doing great. Looks like your Scottish holiday was very enjoyable and blessed with bright if cold weather.

Take care Mac & Jacquie SKYY
